The feedback for this one has been tremendous - the crowds are big and the seating is limited so ... we are adding an additional 2 performances to the run of August: Osage County.
Thursday, December 20th and Friday the 21st have been added.
You can check out the Review posted in the Chico News and review and decide if you want to come along if you haven't already.
So did you read the review? Did you catch the part where he wrote,"...one of the most satisfying theater experiences to be had in Chico in recent years."?
August: Osage County is a darkly comedic play by Tracy Letts, author of the wildly popular Rogue Production of Killer Joe a few years back. It was the recipient of the 2008 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the Broadway Production won the Tony Award for Best Play the same year.
A vanished father. A pill-popping mother. Three sisters harboring shady little secrets. When the large Weston family unexpectedly reunites after Dad disappears, their Oklahoman family homestead explodes in a maelstrom of repressed truths and unsettling secrets. Mix in Violet, the drugged-up, scathingly acidic matriarch, and you've got a major new play that unflinchingly—and uproariously—exposes the dark side of the Midwestern American family.
Director, Joe Hilsee, has assembled a stellar ensemble featuring Joyce Henderson, Roger Montalbano, Betty Burns, Jeremy Votava, Amber Miller, Delovely Delisa, John Duncan, Shawn Galloway, Sean Green, Natalie Valencia, Samantha Desher, Jesse Mills and Nicole Collado.
WARNING:
This play contains alcoholism, drug addiction, foul language, infidelity, racism, incest and Jeremy Votava.
It's a play about family - but not what you would call a family play.
